How to get to Ambergris Caye and Sapphire Beach Resort

Ambergris Caye is an Island.   From the mainland, you must either take a water taxi or a small plane to get there.  Here's how to get there:

1. Book a flight into the BELIZE Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE). This is the main airport in Belize. You must land here first.

2. There are 3 methods to get to Ambergris Caye / San Pedro Town.

     a. Flight - Take a shuttle flight from the international airport (BZE) to Ambergris Caye / San Pedro airport (SPR).  See schedule Here

    b. Flight - Take a short taxi ride (approximately 30 minutes/$30USD) to the Belize Municipal Airport (TZA).  From that airport, catch a flight to the Ambergris Caye / San Pedro airport (SPR), check the schedule here Belize Municipal (TZA) There are flights on the hour most days all day and reasonably priced.   

     c. Water Taxi - Take a short taxi ride (approximately 30 minutes/$30USD) to the San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi  . The water taxi is a great way to see the different cayes and the coast line on the way to Ambergris Caye. Pristine blue and turquoise water is what you'll see all the way to Ambergris Caye / San Pedro. The ride is about 1.5hrs and it makes a brief stop at Caye Caulker.

Bonus tip - if your hungry while waiting for the Water Taxi at the dock, check out  The Last Drop Cafe and Bar located in the terminal. Some of the best Island food and drinks.

After arriving on the island, you have some options to get to your final destination - Sapphire Beach Resort

1. Taxi

 Whether you arrive at the Ambergris Caye airport or at the Water Terminal, you will find many taxis available right outside the airport or right outside the water terminal. It's about a 20 minute car ride to Sapphire Beach Resort and it's approximately $50.00 USD, one way. We can schedule

your Taxi pickup and the cost can be added to your Resort tab. No Worries !

2. Golf carts

 Golf carts are the primary means of transportation on the Island and   

 simply a fun and exciting way to get around a tropical paradise like    

 Ambergris Caye.  We can have your Golf Cart Rental ready for pickup at the Sapphire Beach Resort. The cost can be added to your Resort tab.  Our rental rates are great and we make it easy for you.

If you choose you may rent from an outside agency.
